Sometimes burping or belching can be funny. In some cultures, it's appropriate to burp loudly after a meal to signify that it was tasty. However, there are many situations that burping or belching is inappropriate and it can get annoying really fast if you have a hard time controlling your burps. This article will teach you how to control them.

      When eating or drinking, slow down. By stuffing yourself silly, you tend to take in more oxygen which causes belching. Since you're trying to be more mannerly by controlling your burps, eat more mannerly as well.

      Try not to eat much of these foods: any whole grains, beans, lentils, cabbage, bananas, apricots, prunes, chocolate, onions and sprouts. Although many of these foods are very healthy for you, if you have a belching problem, they will make it worse because they're made up of a specific type of starch and are not digested well in the stomach. This can lead to more belches.

      Drinking alcohol, carbonated drinks, and chewing gum can also cause belching because you are taking in too much air. Avoid them when going to an environment that you need to control your loud burps in.
