Christian Home Based Business

Few things will challenge you more than starting your own christian home based business. However, if you are dedicated to Godly principles, have a passion, and are truly committed to helping people, you can be a successful christian home based business owner.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

DISCOVER YOUR PASSION. What do you love doing? Be honest with yourself. Write those things you are passionate about down on a piece of paper. Fill in the blank: "I am most happy when I am_________. (serving others; working with people; writing; teaching children; designing/illustrating; strengthen families) Begin to take those things your most passionate about and weave them together.

  2. Step 2

FIND YOUR NICHE: Once you have determined your passion and direction, carve out your niche. Be very specific. "I want to 'strengthen families' by providing quality books and videos."

  3. Step 3

WRITE A PURPOSE STATEMENT: "My mission, as a christian home based service, is to strengthen families by providing quality books and videos for both parents and kids." Simple - but powerful. This will keep you focused and on track to success.

  4. Step 4

REGISTER YOUR BUSINESS: Follow your states guidelines and register your business.

  5. Step 5

OPEN A WEBSITE: This is a must! Secure a server (Startlogic: http://www.startlogic.com/join/index.bml?AffID=570938) (Scroll down for link) and domain name (http://www.littleacornkids.net) Most servers offer web building tools, however, your time is better spent developing your business. Give your web information to a professional designer and have them develop your site.

  6. Step 6

WORK ON YOUR LIST: Begin your marketing strategy by collecting names, email addresses, and numbers. Start with family and friends and let it grow from there. More ideas on how to grow your list in the next few steps.

  7. Step 7

WRITE A BLOG: This is a great way to keep up with your customers and grow your list (Scroll down for link to Blogger). Through a blog you can offer them important information about your company and the products you offer. Make sure you are providing them with the information they want. Keep the lines of communication open and ask for customer response and ideas. Through your blog, offer them something for free in exchange for contact information.

  8. Step 8

JOIN SOCIAL NETWORKING: This is a very powerful and underutilized tool. Social networking sites such as, Facebook, Myspace, Digg, Twitter, etc. offer great ways to make contact with people in your niche. Don't underestimate the effectiveness these sites have for a christian home based service. If you don't have these accounts, open at least one today and begin networking!

  9. Step 9

THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING. CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOUR PRODUCT!

Tips & Warnings
