Things You'll Need:

-
Step 1
Exercise more during the day. It relaxes the body, mind, and helps you with weight loss. You can try Yoga also. Practice muscle relaxation
distracts your mind from worrying thoughts while you are at it. -
Step 2
Hot waterHave a hot bath or take a shower. The hot water relaxes the muscles and causes overall body temperature to drop afterward, sending sleep signal to the brain. Hot bath is more effective than shower.
-
Step 3
Do the same things each night at the same. This will form into a habit and sends the unconscious mind that you are preparing for sleep. For example, put the dog out, wash your face, check the locks on the window, etc. Do each step in exact order. Looks like simplistic but it can work well.
-
Step 4
SleepingGo to sleep at the same time every night and get up at the same time daily.
-
Step 5
Have time for worry before going to bed. Think and write down the worries; problems that are currently in your life. Writing them down will ease your mind that you have it recorded somewhere, so you won't be lying in bed think over them.
-
Step 6
Chronic insomia / alarm clockDo not stay in bed and worry about being awake. This will only cause stress and make sleep even harder to come. If you find yourself becoming anxious about not falling asleep, get up and make yourself a non-caffeine beverage, find something to read or watch. Stay up until you feel really sleepy.
