Step 1
Pick a color scheme for your cubicle. Picking one dominant color and one less dominant color is nice. Lets say you select blue as your dominant color and lime green as your less dominant color.
You will want to decorate with office items that are blue. You can get blue file folders, blue book ends, a blue coffee mug, a blue hole punch, and blue binders.
For your less dominant color, you will also need to decorate with smaller office items that are in that color. You can get lime green paper clips, some lime green pencils, and a lime green stapler.
To be really clever, try finding items that incorporate the blue and lime green. Maybe it is a blue picture frame with lime green polka dots, a small painting that incorporates blue and lime green, or a blue mouse pad with a lime green flower. -
Step 2
The best way to decorate your cubicle is to make it neat, organized, and tidy. Make sure to use organizational office tools that are functional for your needs. Keep most of your work surface completely empty.
-
Step 3
Do not incorporate too many items from home. One family photo is plenty. Your cubicle should maintain a professional look.
-
Step 4
Make sure to look for office supplies at large office supply stores, office supply catalogs, online, and more unconventional places. Many furniture stores that carry home office furniture, such as Crate and Barrel and Pottery Barn, will also offer unique and interesting office supplies in trendy colors. Organizational stores, such as the Container Store, also carry unique office supplies. If you can't find exactly what you are looking for, you can always paint or upholster items to coordinate with your decor. Don't forget about online auctions, such as eBay, for inexpensive unique items to decorate your cubicle.
