Step 1
Portland is known for its 365 days a year music scene, no matter what you want to hear there is probably a show for you on any given night. Use websites such as www.pc-pdx.com and www.wweek.com to find live shows that you can go see with or without friends.
-
Step 2
Make sure you grab a bite to eat somewhere, Portland is also filled with delicious restaurants and bars. Try Kelly's Olympian if you are looking for a drink or Montage if you are looking for a late night snack. Other delicious restaurants include Papa Hayden's, Kenny and Zuke's, El Gaucho, Nicholas's, Park Kitchen, 1001 and Oba among others.
-
Step 3
Tourist sites such as Voodoo Donuts (open all night) and Powell's Bookstore can always be fun places to see too, especially if your from out of town.
-
Step 4
House shows are all over Portland but sometimes not well listed or advertised, the faster you make friends the more cool parties and fun house shows you will hear about and get invited to.
-
Step 5
Dance clubs, while harder to find in Portland, do exist, with a high percentage of them catering to the LGBQT community. They can be very fun to drop into during the wee hours of the night and remember that even gay and lesbian clubs welcome people from all walks of life.
-
Step 6
If a movie is all you need, specialty movie theaters like Living Room Theaters allow you to have a beer and recline in state of the art seating while you watch a movie.
