Some stamps I've made.
Some stamps I've made.

Stamps are fun but can be expensive to buy. How about making your own foam stamps at home? Here's how:

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • some drawing ability
  • craft knife
  • foam sheets (craft store or wal-mart)
  • pencil
  • glue
  1. Step 1

Use your pencil (or pen if you're brave) to draw a design for a stamp on the foam sheet. This type of stamp works best with large designs and wide lines such as letters, shapes, etc.

  2. Step 2

Now use your craft knife to carefully cut out the stamp design being sure to remember that raised areas will be the part that shows when foam stamp is inked later on.

  3. Step 3

Cut out a square of foam to fit the cut out stamp you have designed. Use a contrasting color if possible as this creates an interesting look and makes your stamps really pop. No one likes a boring stamp.

  4. Step 4

Using a thin layer of glue, paste the backing square onto the back of your foam stamp. Allow to dry thoroughly.

  5. Step 5

    Enjoy making your own stamps!

Tips & Warnings
