Step 1
faux painted—homePaint your piece of furniture with a light soft color base. You can use light pale colors of yellow, blue, green. Just make sure the base color is very pale and light.
-
Step 2
Ornate furnitureI like to glitz up ornate old furniture with silver or gold highlights on carvings or other elevated contours. If this is not your desired look just pass up that idea.
-
Step 3
Tint-all stainPurchase complimentary color Tint-All that works well with your base color.
For furniture I like to work with two different color Tint-All. If you did use a gold or silver let which ever color you used be one of your color Tint-All. Mix both of your two colors separately with polyurethane. -
Step 4
Tint-all staining furnitureWith the first color mixed with the polyurethane apply to the entire piece of furniture. Then do the same with the second color. You can apply a darker brown Tint-All and polyurethane mix to joints, crevices and any other recessed contours. Blotting with a sponge leave deeper areas dark and shallow areas light.
