How to Organize a Christian Youth Group
Christian youth groups teach children and young adults about their faith, while also providing a safe atmosphere for them to play games and sports and meet other youth. Good planning is necessary to ensure the success of a Christian youth group. Potential members need to be informed of meetings and other activities. The activities need to keep members interested in attending and participating in the youth group.

1
Decide on the goals for the Christian youth group. Decide whether it's more just a fellowship activity for youths in the church and/or does mission and charitable trips and/or teaches youth members about Christianity. Members of a Christian youth group typically want games and non-religious activities combined with the religious activities, as opposed to just Bible study or what they might get in a church service.
-
2
Meet with a group of youth and adult members to discuss the formation of a new Christian youth group. Seek input and advice. Decide on meeting times, how often the group meets and plans for trips and other activities, such as swimming trips and attending Christian concerts.

3
Post flyers around the church that detail when the youth group will be meeting, as well as making an announcement in the church bulletin and during services. Make it clear it's a youth group, what time it meets and who is in charge. Include what activities will happen, such as, "Bible study, games and planning for the upcoming mission trip to Nicaragua."
-
4
Hold activities and events on a regular basis. A regular meeting time makes it easier for members to remember and get in the habit of attending. An example is every Sunday from 7 to 8 p.m. It might take awhile for the membership numbers to grow, but be patient and continue to hold regular meetings and events.

5
Continue to ask for input from the youth members, as well as adult members. You will have to adjust how the youth group is run from time to time. If church members, both youth and adult, have more say in what happens and how things are done, they'll have more interest and connection to the youth group. Encourage the youth members to volunteer for tasks, such as bringing food or running an activity.
