Step 1
Remember that guitar that's in the garage?Make a list of things you like to do, even if you have not done them in a while. Then, next to each item place an estimated dollar amount. How much does it cost to do this thing? Next, circle the "free" to "inexpensive" items if you are on a tight budget. Finally, put these activities on your calendar.

Step 2
Have an informal party!Make a list of people you have not seen or spoken to in a while. Since the goal is to keep you positive and upbeat, you may not want to contact everyone. Rank them giving an "A" to people you plan to call or see. Give a "B" to those getting an email message or a greeting card. And, give a "C" to those you will simply send loving thoughts.

Step 3
Maybe someone else needs your help.Make a list of things you have been wanting to do around the house. Only choose projects that are going to bring you joy and satisfaction.
-
Step 4
Take time to enjoy your family.Look on the internet and find free activities that are going on in your area. If you have children, just being outside may be enough. Find things you all will enjoy.
-
Step 5
Create some special moments. Finally, enjoy the simple things. So many times running off to work we forget to savor those precious kisses, really listen to the music we love or notice how bright the sun is shining. Stop and enjoy this time you have off.
