How to Design a Web site with Microsoft FrontPage

Windows FrontPage has been a very popular software to use for designing a web site. There are both advantages and disadvantages of using it. Here are some considerations you may want to keep in mind if you are currently using it or want to design a web site with FrontPage.

1. Keep in mind what you want your web site to do. If you are simply offering a display of goods, knowledge or services,Microsoft FrontPage will provide an excellent format for a magazine or portfolio format.

2. FrontPage does offer an easy way to set up your own site with wizards and a fair amount of flexibility. And, of course, you do need to have your own domain name registered first.

3. If you are looking for interactivity, the software also offers easy ways to add links and even animation.

4. Make sure your host knows to enable your server extensions for frames. This is mandatory for a site using Microsoft FrontPage.

5. If you are interested in using your site to drive traffic, be warned that the search engines rarely search the frames format used in FrontPage. You can design a beautiful site without being an expert in HTML with Microsoft FrontPage, but if you are looking to attract a big audience with SEO, you will be sorely disappointed. Most pages designed in FrontPage will remain pretty much invisible to web crawlers so you will not get much of a ranking if any at all.
