Pantyhose are no longer the exclusive domain of women. Here's why some men are embracing men's pantyhose.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Should men wear hosiery? Well, believe it or not, they already do. The good news is they don’t have to raid their wife or girlfriend’s dresser drawers anymore to get a pair of pantyhose to wear to the office or worksite. There are now pantyhose designed specifically with the male physique in mind. They even have a trendy new name to flatter their wearer – mantyhose.

  2. Step 2

How did this all come about? It seems the trend of men wearing pantyhose started in Europe, but is rapidly moving in this direction as men discover the warmth and security of wearing stockings under their clothing. In all fairness, not all men are wearing them as a fashion statement. Some men claim to wear hosiery because of problems with circulation. The pantyhose provide gentle compression which helps to prevent pooling of blood in the legs. Men living in cold climates reportedly like the additional warmth pantyhose provide on those cold, winter mornings. Whatever the reason, it appears that men’s pantyhose are catching on not only in Europe but in the United States as well.

  3. Step 3

How do mantyhose differ from conventional women’s pantyhose? They’re specifically designed to conform to the male anatomy, complete with fly openings for easy accessibility. What man could ask for more? Although the most popular color for men’s pantyhose is black, men’s pantyhose are being test marketed that feature a variety of designs on the legs ranging from geometric shapes to flowers.

  4. Step 4

If the idea that a man might wear hosiery is confusing to you, there’s assistance in the form of a website that tells you everything you need to know to successfully wear pantyhose as a male. This site located at e-mancipate.net has the mission of making men’s pantyhose more accessible and acceptable. Here, you’ll find complete step-by-step instructions with photos showing you how to put on pantyhose without tearing them in the process. There’s even a featured men’s pantyhose design of the week to provide hosiery inspiration. You can also read a testimonial from a truck driver who wears pantyhose regularly on the job and claims to “love the feel of them on his legs”. He also enjoys the fact that his wife thinks they make his legs look sexy. He challenges all men to have the courage to try a pair. Interestingly, the truck driver shows only a photo of his truck and doesn’t sign his last name.

  5. Step 5

Yes, the word is changing and men who wear hosiery no longer have to hide their stockings in the closet. Now that’s true liberation.

on 10/12/2009 I have been a pantyhose fan for many years now. All of this is a good start, but you know...everything that I found was just superficial and did not answer some of my questions. For the longest time I thought that their was something wrong with me. So, I did what any bloke would do with some extra time on his hand...created my own website to share some of the things that I have learned, and hopefully create a forum for other to share. Check it out at: http://www.pantyhoseaficionado.com
From the best pantyhose for men and women, to the best pantyhose websites, I hope to capture it all at

Enjoy,

on 9/6/2009 I suffered from leg cramps of one form or another for 40 years. The doctors made one suggestion or another and none worked. Take more minerals, take quinine sulfate, get more exercise, get less exercise, and so on. What this really meant was that they didn’t really have a clue about my problem or a solution. The last doctor just said that I had annoying leg cramps. Annoying was the understatement of the week. By this time the cramps were so bad that I was essentially incapacitated for ten minutes until they released. Sometimes, trying to relieve one cramp introduced another cramp. I had a test for deep vein thrombosis (economy class airline syndrome), but the test said my blood flow was excellent. So, painful cramps and no solution, what to do now?

One day while riding the train to work I overheard a conversation between two women sitting on the seats behind me. What caught my attention was the discussion about leg cramps. It seems that one women’s husband suffered from leg cramps also. She told him to put on a pair of her pantyhose, and the problem went away. Wow, is this for real? I did a web search using the search terms “leg cramp pantyhose” and got hundred of hits. Most referred to pregnancy problems (I assure you, I was not pregnant) but a very few mentioned support hose as a cramp cure. All right, maybe there is something here.
