How to conduct a professional job interview and get the job.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Most professional business people know all the right things to say during the interview process. After a while interviewing is a piece of cake. However, there are certain things you want to keep in in mind when interviewing. The Do's and Dont's when it comes to interviewing could be an extensive list. Therefore, I will focus on the Do's when interviewing for a job.

  2. Step 2

It is common knowledge to dress accordingly, conservative attire is the best way to go. Always be at least 10 minutes early for the interview. Have at least two copies of your cover letter and resume on hand. Most importantly, give the interviewer a firm handshake, a handshake like you are serious about the potential job. From the minute you shake hands with the interviewer, it is critical to maintain continous eye contact throughout the interview process. Be friendly and polite, and never interupt the interviewer, wait until he or she has finished speaking before saying any thing.

  3. Step 3

Always ask questions relating to the position. Make sure you give complete and accurate answers to all questions. It is best not to discuss salary on the first meeting unless of course you are asked. Finally, the most important thing the applicant "Must do" is "ask for the job". No matter how well a person performs during an interview, if you don't ask for the job and close the interview you don't have a prayer. You must ask for the position and close the interview. Think of it as if you were closing a sale or business deal, walk away with a good feeling.
