How to Decorate a Country Bathroom
What do you think of when you hear "country bathroom?" Some people may think wrought iron or old-fashioned sinks, but others may think of their grandparents' bathrooms when they were little: small and blue. Regardless of what you think of when you hear "country bathroom," decorating it to your taste is what it all comes down to. If you're starting from scratch, this guide focuses on decorating your bathroom with primitives and helps you create a country bathroom that's down to earth and comforting. Does this Spark an idea?

Everything on decorating your new country bathroom depends on the size of your bathroom and your budget. This advice can be used for a larger-sized bathroom, so this would most likely apply to your master bathroom, and it might be a little more expensive depending on where you buy your accessories. So what's the first thing you think of when you hear new bathroom? A bathtub, of course! Now, if you want the country-style bathroom, you're going to have to search online for a Victorian Bathtub. I know, Victorian doesn't sound very country-ish, but it's the kind you're looking for. You know--the ones that are on four legs that have the claw feet. Even though they are a little bit on the expensive side (about $1200 depending on its finish) they are the best kinds of tubs for any country bathroom.

Next, you're going to need to think of what kind of sink you want. Again, think Victorian Basin. These sinks come in many shapes and styles, and you are the one who gets to decide which one you want. One of the more country sinks are called Pedestal Sinks, and they are also made as corner sinks, in case you have a smaller bathroom. These sinks add a nice touch to any country bathroom. To go along with the sink, you might want to think of a type of mirror or vanity to go along with it. A good place to look for these mirrors for a decent price is Target.com.

Now it's time to think toilets! Any toilet will do, but how you decorate it is the key to making it look country. Decorating the back of your toilet with old fashioned signs that say things like, "Soap 5 cents," can really add a country feel to your bathroom as well. Check the bottom of the page to view the website that has these signs.

Now comes the fun part! Choosing a theme for your bathroom! A very popular theme is the Outhouse Theme. A lot of people really enjoy finding decorations that add to this particular theme because it's very old fashioned. Finding things like borders and small figurines can add a nice touch. Shower curtains and area rugs should be kept to a solid color if you're going to use a border and decorations or else the bathroom will look too busy.

Flooring? Your best bet is to stick to tile. Tile can go along with any theme to any bathroom style. You should also probably stick to a tile color that's also neutral in color: a nice 12" x 12" tile (for larger bathrooms) that's a mixture of white and beige or light brown can make your bathroom look brighter and more relaxing.

Tips & Warnings
The only problem with Pedestal Sinks is that there isn't much room for accessories such as hair dryers and such. If you want room for those, you can either think of getting a sink with a chest underneath.
Try and stay with neutral colors such as beige to keep your bathroom calm.
Candles really add to a romantic bathroom. Scents such as lavender and pumpkins (especially in the fall) can add a nice touch to your country bathroom.
A really fantastic magazine to look at when decorating your country bathroom is Country Living. The website is posted at the bottom of the article; this magazine can give you more insights to proper installations and decoration ideas.
Don't over do-it when decorating because you don't want your bathroom to look gaudy or cheap looking. You want it to look just right.
