How to make Filipino Eggrolls

Filipino eggrolls (lumpia) are a simple to make and delicious.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • finally chopped carrots
  • finely chopped green onion
  • cooking oil
  • 1 pkg lumpia eggroll wrappers
  • garlic powder,black pepper
  1. Step 1

    In a large mixing bowl, blend your ground beef,carrots, and onions together with your hands. Set aside the mixture.

  2. Step 2

    Next, lay out your egg roll wrappers flat on a clean surface and set aside. The egg roll wrappers should be fully thawed out.

  3. Step 3

    Brown your meat mixture with vegetables in a nine inch skillet. Add garlic and black pepper seasonings to taste.

  4. Step 4

    Finally, spread about two to three tablespoons of meat down the center of the egg roll wrapper diagonally. Fold the corners of wrapper with the meat slightly in and then fold the other corner and roll the egg roll wrapper into a cylindrical shape. In a deep fryer (fry daddy) or an eight to nine inch frying pan, brown the egg rolls for two to three and a half minutes. You can deep fry three to four egg rolls at a time.

Tips & Warnings
  • A lumpia is a Filipino eggroll made with beef, pork, or both and vegetables. This meal can be serve with fried rice or white rice. It takes about an hour to prepare the egg rolls and depending on how many egg rolls you have, another twenty minutes to deep fry them. You can also break the steps into separate days. You could roll fifty lumpia rolls and them put them in the freezer or refrigerator and take a few down at a time. This meal can also be served with deviled eggs. The beef can be also be mixed with ground pork. Serves about eight people.
