Nowadays everyone has a myspace page, facebook page or something of that sort. Having photos on your page is a must have but thats difficult to do when you do not own a digital camera or that the best pics you seem to capture are taking with your cellphone. In this article I am going to tell you how to get great pictures from your cellphone to your computer in a jiffy.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A cellphone that takes pictures of good quality
  • An email adress that you will use to receive the pictures, I would recommend gmail for photos.
  • If you prefer a photo editing program
  1. Step 1

First thing you need to do is set up an email address just for your photos. I am sure that you will find these steps so easy that you will send alot of pictures. I have found that gmail is the best free email to receive your pictures because it has the download options and the view option. Also if you choose to use an editing program I would also recommend using Picasa which is also a product of Google. It can be easily downloaded and its free!

  2. Step 2

After you have decided on an active email account that you will use, you are ready to put that into your phone. Choose a contact that doesnt have an email address like your home number. You may want to make a new contact with your own cell number and add the email address. This process varies by phone model can mostly be done by editing a contact and typing in the email address. This is what will link your computer and cellphone.

  3. Step 3

Next decide on a picture that you will send to your computer. You will send the picture as you would normally when sending a multi media message. In the field where it ask for the recipients information you scroll through your contacts list and locate the email address (not the phone number) then hit send. Make sure that you have good signal strength because sending MMMessages to a computer is a little more difficult to send.

  4. Step 4

Once the message shows that it has been sent, sign into your email account. If you decided to use the Google gmail, you may a right choice. When opening your mail it will say that this message was sent by mobile number 000-000-0000. Open the message and you will see a box with the words "download" and "view" beside of it. After the pictures are viewable you will click on view and then right click in the picture. This will give you the pop up menu that gives up the option to SAVE AS . . . click save as and name your picture.

  5. Step 5

By clicking View this will save your picture in the size that you are viewing at the time that you saved it. To make a larger version you will need to hit download and then the picture will open in a new window. Follow the steps listed above to save the picture to your computer.

  6. Step 6

Now that you have saved the pictures you will go to your start menu, then click pictures and there you go! All you have to do is follow the steps for uploading pictures to the photo editing program or if you like the way that they are you can go ahead and upload them to your myspace, facebook or any website that you use. You can also print your pictures straight from your computer!

Tips & Warnings
  • I always edit my cellphone pictures through Googles Picasa to give them a sharper image, add light and make them of a better quality before adding them to my page!
  • Remember that if you are using your cellphone to take pictures for your computer, always consider the lighting and other elements, if your camera has a flash use it when needed.
  • Most camera on cellphones do not take very high quality photos and the larger the size of the picture the worse the quality it so try to keep a small but very viewable size. Remember this when printing them too, the smaller the better!
  • I have also had an experience with Live and Hotmail email accounts where the cellphone picture is not viewable so I would aviod using these providers if possible.
