Your credit score can significantly impact all aspects of your life. it can affect your chances of getting the best interest rates, loans, jobs, and much more. Here is how to improve your credit score now.

  1. Step 1

    The first thing to do to fix your credit score is to get a copy of your credit report. In most cases you can get one free copy each year by contacting the credit bureau.

  2. Step 2

    Now analyze the credit report. Many credit reports have significant mistakes. If you find an error write the credit bureau immediately to let them know what is wrong and why it is wrong. This will add a notation on your credit report that the item is in dispute. When it is in dispute it typically will not be help against you.

  3. Step 3

    Next look for accounts over 7 years old with no activity. Typically it must be removed after this time.

  4. Step 4

    Next make sure that you pay all your bills on time and have low every balances. The less your debt is and the fewer late payments the better.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not close a credit account, this can negatively impact your score.
  • Make sure you do not use more than 50% of your revolving credit limit. This can also negatively impact your credit score.
