Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Fresh fruits and veggies
  • Consistency
  • Creativity
  1. Step 1

Consistently offer your child only healthy food options. Once you make the decision to stick with a healthy eating plan for your child don't back down. If you are consistent and only offer healthy options your child will eat them. It may take awhile but eventually your child will eat what you offer.

  2. Step 2

Skip the fast food and soda! Fast food and soda have no place in a healthy diet. Just avoid both. Don't allow your child to eat fast food and don't purchase soda.

  3. Step 3

Lead by example. When your child sees you eating healthy foods on a consistent basis they will come to realize that this is how your family as a whole eats. By showing them your healthy lifestyle they are learning how to eat healthy themselves.

  4. Step 4

Provide your child with lots of fresh fruit and veggies to eat. Be creative and serve new foods on a regular basis. You can make healthy food fun for your child. Make them ants on a log by filling celery sticks with natural peanut butter and topping with raisins.

  5. Step 5

Incorporate more whole grains and fiber into your child's diet. Start making changes slowly and in no time at all your child will be eating a healthy well balanced diet!
