How to Make Cheerleading Party Decorations
All little girls want to be a cheerleader. If that is your little girl or she already is one, she will be thrilled to have a cheerleading birthday party. Cut down on the expenses and make your own cheerleading party decorations. It will afford you the chance to decorate more lavishly without breaking the bank. These decorations are easy to make and will be wonderful take home gifts for your guests and your daughter will love decorating her room with them afterwords.
Things You'll Need
- Five sheets tissue paper (Color one)
- Five sheets tissue paper (Color two)
- Scotch tape
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Vinyl tape
- Poster board
- Pencil
- Stick glue
- Construction paper
- Clear packing tape
- Glitter paint pens
Instructions

Cheerleading Pom-pom Decorations

Stack five sheets of the tissue paper together. Cut through all layers lengthwise making strips approximately 1-inch wide. Make another stack of the remaining five sheets and repeat.

Stack each strip on top of each other, alternating the two colors. Tape the strips together around the center of the length.

Fold the strips in half, matching the short ends. Wrap 4 inches of the folded ends with a vinyl tape that matches your color theme. This is your handle.

Scrunch and fluff the pom-pom strips. Repeat these steps to make pairs of pom-poms. Use for your cheerleading party decorations and send home with your guests.
Pennants

Measure and trace a rectangle on the poster board 8 inches wide by 18 inches long.

Find a 4-inch center on a short end and mark. Draw a line from this point to a corner on the opposite end of the rectangle. Repeat with a line to the other corner. This is your pennant shape. Cut out the pennant.

Trace the letters of your guests names on construction paper. Cut them out and glue to the pennant using the stick glue. Use the pennants for place mats and cheerleading party decorations for the wall.
Megaphone Centerpiece

Roll one long side of the poster board to resemble a cone. Leave the point open for a mouthpiece. Tape the seam with clear packing tape.

Trim the wide section, making an even rim on the megaphone. Set the megaphone on this rim.

Make the megaphone a focal point of table.

Tips & Warnings
Alter the large megaphone into several small ones to use as party favors. Fill them with lip gloss, glitter makeup and miniature yarn pom-poms to tie on shoes.
