Have a problem with drooping eyelids? Properly applied eyeshadow and eyeliner can really perk up droopy or tired eyes. This technique gives eyes the appearance of being wider and brighter, and the makeup takes only a few minutes to apply. Because the eyeshadow is anchored by liquid concealer, this look lasts all day.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Liquid concealer
  • Makeup sponge
  • Small eyeshadow brush
  • Light-tone eyeshadow
  • Dark-tone eyeshadow
  • Highlighting eyeshadow (such as silver or white)
  • Pencil eyeliner
  1. Step 1

Dab a small amount of liquid concealer onto a makeup sponge and gently apply it to the entire eyelid, from the lash line to just below the brow. The concealer will allow the eye makeup to last longer.

  2. Step 2

Use an eyeshadow brush to apply the light-tone eyeshadow on the upper part of the eyelid, from the innermost corner of the eye to the center of the lid.

  3. Step 3

Wipe the brush clean, then apply the dark eyeshadow to the eyelid, starting at the lash line. Begin where the eyelid is the droopiest (usually near the center) and extend outward in a wing shape. The wing shape, which should be almost at a diagonal, give the eyelid's appearance a lift.

  4. Step 4

Wipe the brush clean, then sweep a light line of the highlighting eyeshadow right underneath the inner edge of the brow. Light colors such as silver or white open up the eye.

  5. Step 5

Apply pencil eyeliner to the lid only, from the inner edge to the area where the pupil is. Do not line all the way across or stop directly in the center of the lid, as that will cause the eye to appear narrow.

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose eyeshadow and eyeliner in complementary shades. Often, eyeshadow is sold in already matching sets that can be useful if you're unsure how to coordinate colors.
