How to Play Torrent Files

Torrent files are becoming more and more popular everyday. Contrary to the popular believe that a torrent is the actual data that you wish to acquire, a torrent file only contains information that tells the computer how to obtain the targeted data. A torrent file, by itself, will provide you with no useful information. By following the steps below you will be able to use torrent files to acquire the information that you are looking for, such as video, audio or other forms of information.

Instructions

1. The first step is to find the torrent for the information that you want to acquire. A simple search of the Internet will usually provide many results. To identify a torrent, always remember that the file extension of a torrent file is .torrent.

2. Once you have located an appropriate torrent, look for the "download" link for the torrent. The download link is usually found just next to the torrent file.

3. Click on the "download" link and save the torrent file to your computer.

4. Use the Internet to search for one of the many programs, such as BitLord, that can read the information contained within the torrent file that was downloaded.

5. Follow the instructions on the program's website to download and install the program onto your computer.

6. Once installed, open this program.

7. Once the program is open, look for the "Open" button on the program's menu.

8. Click this "Open" button. The program will ask for the location of the torrent file that you want the program to use. Direct the program to the location where you downloaded the torrent file in step 3.

9. Once the program has found your torrent, it will automatically look for other computers on the internet that have the information the torrent is for.

10. When the program locates the information, it will automatically begin to download the target file.

11. When the download has finished, simply open the downloaded file in the same manner that you would open any other downloaded file.
