Things You'll Need:
- basket
- liner for the basket
- filler for bottom, can be popcorn
- gifts
- card
- ribbon
- roll of clear or tinted cellophane
-
Step 1
Choose a theme to be used in your Mothers Day gift baskets. You might do a cookie theme or a theme based around her favorite hobby. For example, if she likes to read fill the basket with gifts of books, teas or coffees, a box of chocolates, a bookmark, anything related to reading. If you are working on a budget, visit a used book store for books.
-
Step 2
Select baskets to use for your Mothers Day gift baskets. While you can certainly buy new ones, it is also fun to look around and recycle a basket that you already have.
-
Step 3
Choose liners for your Mother’s Day gift baskets. You can use colorful cloth napkins that are part of the gift. You might also use festive high quality paper napkins.
-
Step 4
A filler is needed for the bottom of the basket for the gifts to sit on. You can purchase this at a party store or you can use popcorn. If using popcorn it needs to be air popped to avoid transferring oil to other things in your Mothers Day gift baskets.
-
Step 5
Assembly is easy. Line each Mothers Day gift basket and fill with filler 2/3 full.
-
Step 6
Arrange the gifts you have selected in the Mother’s Day gift baskets. Don’t forget to sign and insert the card so she knows who it’s from.
-
Step 7
Cut a generous amount of the cellophane wrapping paper. You may need two pieces depending on the size of the Mothers Day gift baskets that you are wrapping. If you need two, use them at 90 degree angles to each other. By that I mean use one in a north south direction and one in an east west direction.
-
Step 8
Pull the wrapping up to the top of your Mother’s Day gift baskets and tie with ribbons. If you are not good with bows, use curly ribbon, it’s festive and easy to curl. Your Mothers Day gift baskets are ready to give.
