Here is the easiest way to decorate a cake or cupcakes and have it look like you bought it in a bakery. This is so simple, why didn't we think of it earlier?

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • condiment container (or old diner style ketchup/mustard container
  • cake or cup cakes
  • frosting
  1. Step 1

Fill the condiment container with frosting or a berry sauce of some sort. You can add food coloring to the frosting so that you have different colors to decorate with.

  2. Step 2

Turn the container upside down and squeeze the bottle to make the frosting come out. Try a test on a sheet of paper towel. That way you can get a feel for how fast it comes out and what size line it makes.

  3. Step 3

Because the opening of the squeeze bottle is so small, you can make very detailed designs such as flowers with stems and leaves, all kinds of shapes, and most importantly, letters. You can write in cursive or print, use different curly q's at the end of letters if you want to get more fancy.

  4. Step 4

You can add tiny delicate dots all over. One trick to mention is that if you want the size of the line you draw to bigger or thicker, you can simply snip off the tip of the squeeze bottle to make a larger opening. Be careful though, this might make the frosting come out faster than before.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use the condiment bottle to jazz up your meals! Put sour cream in the container and drizzle it into soup. Put a pest sauce inside and drizzle it over pasta dishes. Put a Balsamic reduction sauce inside and drizzle it over caprese salad. Get creative!
  • Drizzle chocolate sauce over a sunday! Put chocolate polka dots on the plate of a brownie or cake.
