This simple project will be colorful and teach children about the colors that fire produces while emphasizing the story of the fiery furnace. Be sure to focus on how hot fire is and the furnace could burn up things very quickly.

Things You'll Need

  • White construction paper
  • Pre-cut flames cut out of felt (one red, one yellow and one orange for each child)

Instructions

      Flame Template

      Give each child a piece of white construction paper. Give each child a glue stick and three felt flames (one of each color). Use the template of a flame provided here. You may want copy the flame at 150%, 125%, and 100% to get three different sized flames.

      Let the children glue down one of the flames onto the paper. Have them glue the second flame onto the paper overlapping the first one a little. Now let the children glue the third flame onto the paper overlapping the other two a little to give a 3-D effect.

      Use this craft to go along with the lesson plan provided in the Resources section. Talk about how only God could have made it where the men did not get consumed by the fire.

Tips & Warnings

  • Be sure to warn children never to touch or play with fire.
