Bukisa - Bukisa is relatively new. Because it is new, there is a large earning potential. Besides earning money for your writing, you can earn money by referring other writers. They have a payment method similar to Suite 101 and eHow. You are paid a revenue sharing percentage based on advertisement clicks.

Helium - Helium uses a payment formula based on advertisement clicks and rating stars. In addition to writing, you must rate articles to receive maximum payment. Helium is great for new writers, because the editorial process is very lax. To earn well with Helium you will need to maintain one writing star at all times, which is done by ensuring your articles are in the top 25%. You must also ensure you maintain a rating star, which is done by consistently and accurately rating 10 articles per month. (Yes, they can tell if your ratings are consistent and accurate!)

eHow - If you have not yet signed up for the eHow writer's compensation program, do so now! eHow pays a percentage of ad revenues and is a great place to get started writing. eHow is currently my favorite place to write!

Demand Studios - If you want to become an eHow editor, consider writing for Demand Studios. You are paid a flat rate of $10 per article. If you are looking to earn money from your writing immediately this is a great way to get paid up front.

Squidoo - To write for Squidoo.com you must be skilled, not only at writing, but also at visually setting up a webpage. Squidoo calls their webpages "lenses." Squidoo allows a writer a great deal of control over the advertisement placement and referral links embedded in the lenses. Most places you write, the layout and ad placement is done for you. I do not particularly like designing lenses, so I've done little writing for Squidoo. However, a well written and designed lens can reach top rankings with the major search engines. My best squidoo lens gets more views each month than any other article I have written to date. Despite the stellar traffic to this lens, it doesn't earn me a lot of money. It does generate traffic to my writing though.

Suite 101 - Suite 101 also pays based on advertisement traffic. Suite 101 has a great editorial process and if you are accepted to write for Suite 101, you can learn a lot by writing for them. They do not accept all articles, but the earning potential is very good. Also, anyone wanting to learn more about optimizing their writing for the internet can learn a great deal from Suite 101. As a writer for Suite 101, you begin by writing on specific subjects. As you become a more seasoned writer, you are allowed to branch out and cover other topics. Next to eHow, this is my favorite way to earn money writing.

Textbroker - Textbroker.com requests specific titles to be written. You are paid a flat rate for your writing based on your writer ranking and the article length and criteria. If you want to earn cash up front for writing, textbroker is a great place to earn quick cash.

Examiner.com - Examiner.com is a relatively new place to write. They hire people who can verify they have experience writing quality articles in a given subject and people who have personal or work experience in that same area. Examiners are hired for each geographical location. The website currently pays 1 cent per article view. I am currently the alternative medicine examiner in my local area. Although I am new to Examiner.com, I am very happy with my earnings. This is one of my 3 top websites to make money writing.
