How to Find a Good Online College

An online college education can be very convenient for those who are already out in the workforce, have children, serve in the military, or have other commitments that would prevent them from going to a traditional college. However, when choosing an online college, it is important to do your research. Just like other schools, some will be much better than others.

Instructions

1. Research to find all the online colleges that have the degree you are seeking. Once you have found them, check out the history of the schools, education levels of the professors, and accredidations.

2. Look at all the costs and fees associated with each program and how long the programs will take to complete. Elminate those that will not fit your budget or schedule. Keep in mind that you can get financial aid for many online schools too.

3. Find out how the classes are presented. BlackBoard is a common application used for online classes. Ask if you will need to be in the class as specified times, or if you can log in at 2am to complete your work. If you are required to attend real time lectures, you will want to be sure that works for your schedule before choosing that school.

4. Also, ask about any residency requirements. There are some graduate level online programs that do require very short residencies.
