Eating flaxseed and flaxseed oil can be extremely beneficial and healthful part of any whole food or raw food diet. Eating healthy and incorporating flaxseed into your meals is a great way to get Omega Fatty Acids into your diet. Here are some easy and tasty ways to eat and enjoy flaxseed and flaxseed oil.

    FLAXSEED SMOOTHIES

    A great way to eat flaxseed oil is to out it into fruit smoothies! Flaxseed oil is incredibly rich in omega fatty acids. Omega fatty acids are very good for your body, especially your heart! To put flaxseed oil into smoothies, simply drizzle around 2 tablespoons of flaxseed oil into your blender along with frozen or fresh fruit and 2 cups of orange juice. It is delicious!

    FLAXSEED MUFFINS

    One of the benefits of flaxseed is that it can be used in so many different meals! Flaxseed is easy to incorporate into muffins and baked goods. Simply replace about 1/2 cup of flour with 1/2 cup of ground flaxseed, and add 2 eggs instead of just 1. You can do this with any muffin recipe! You and your family will never know that they are enjoying flaxseed meal and getting their essential fatty acids inside their wonderful yummy muffins!

    Baked flaxseed oats are delicious and easy to bake right in your oven. They make a wonderful and hearty winter time breakfast! All you need to do to make this super easy meal is to combine 2 cups of oats, 4 cups of water, 1/3 cup of sugar, and 1/4 cup of whole flaxseed into a covered glass baking dish. Bake in the oven, preheated to 350 degrees, for 30 minutes. Your house will be filled with the incredible smells of the baking oats and whole flaxseed! It will be a family favorite!

on 2/13/2009 I sneak it in on the kids and myself wherever I can. Waffles, bread, pancakes oatmeal. It is pretty easy since I scratch cook most things.
