So this year you are needing a nice Valentine treat to make. Rather than add yet another sweet to all the other candies and cookies why not make some Valentine pretzels. This is an easy recipe and is a favorite of mine. Get the kids to help and you have a fun activity also.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Large glass mixing bowl
  • Wooden spoon
  • Measuring Cup
  • Measuring spoons
  • 1 Pkg. Yeast
  • 1 1/2 Cups warm water
  • 1 Tablespoon sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon salt
  • 4 Cups flour
  • 1 Egg
  1. Step 1

Combine yeast, water, sugar, and salt in a large bowl. Stir in flour. Kneed on table until dough is smooth.

  2. Step 2

Shape dough into heart. Use a little water to glue the heart together. Place on greased cookie sheet.

  3. Step 3

Brush with beaten egg. Sprinkle with salt. Bake in a preheated oven at 425 degrees F. for 15 minutes. Let stand 5 minutes and serve warm with honey mustard sauce.

  4. Step 4

Make a honey mustard to go with the Valentine pretzels. Just mix 1/2 Cup honey with any mustard you have. Add as much mustard as your family likes.Mix well. Add pepper flakes if you like it hot.

Tips & Warnings
