Instructions

    • 1

Slice your 10-12 yellow squash into thin slices. Then place the slices in a large skillet over medium heat.

    • 2

Add 1/4 cup of water, 1/2 stick of butter, 1/4 cup of sugar, and 1/4 cup of chopped onions. Then cover, and let cook until squash is tender, watching to make sure that the squash is not getting too brown. If squash begins to turn brown before it is tender, reduce heat to low and let it continue to cook.

    • 3

Check to see if squash is tender by piercing it with a fork. When it is, remover the casserole from heat and place on top of it 6 slices of velveta cheese. You may transfer it to another dish before adding the cheese, just be sure the casserole is still hot so the cheese will melt. Then you're ready to serve!
