The first thing you want to do is purchase a small shipping scale. I purchased mine on Ebay for about 15 dollars and it works flawless. You will also need a printer to print your labels.

You now want to create an account on the United States Postal Office website. It only takes a few minutes to register. You need to create a user name and password. The great thing about shipping through the Postal Service is that you can get your supplies for free. The price of a box is not what it used to be. They are fairly expensive at the store. The only downfall is if you need a very large box. The boxes they supply are not for large items. The great thing about paying for your shipping online is that you get a discount and you can order all your supplies from the comfort of your home.

I recommend you purchase a tape dispenser. I bought mine at Walmart and I also purchase my tape and bubble wrap there also. I have tried all the major stores and still find them to be the cheapest. Now that you have all your supplies ready, you are ready to ship. Log into your account and enter the desired shipping address, weight ,and dimensions if it's a large box. You will also have the option to purchase all the extra options such as insurance and so fourth. Now you can print your label out and affix to your your package. You will have to tape the label onto
your box. You can schedule a pick up at your home as well.

I would highly recommend using FedEx for large and heavy boxes. You can create an account with them online but you will not get a discount. You save so much with them on larger items that it feels like a discount. You can also print labels and schedule pick ups at your home. I also recommend using a Paypal plug in for payment on both sites. The Paypal plug in is a credit card that Paypal generates using your Paypal account. You will never have to worry about using your credit card online. I have used all the methods in this article and will never go back to my old ways. In this economy,we need to save where ever we can.

Tips & Warnings

  • Purchase a tape dispener.

  • I recommend buying shipping supplies at Walmart.

  • The post office has flat rate shipping boxes. It does not matter the weight.
