Make a Valentines Card for your Sweetheart

If you want your Valentines Card to be unique and romantic, try creating your Valentines Card yourself. Making your own card is a fabulous way to express your personality and passion for your sweetheart.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Red or Purple Card Stock Sheer Velour Paper Red & White or Purple & Gold Ribbon Glue Wallet size Photo Translucent Vellum Envelope Computer Printer Internet access
  1. Step 1

Select a cotton card stock; this will give you a soft texture. Select a high gloss red or dark purple card stock and cut the card stock 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”. For your convenience and to make sure the card stock is cut accurately, have a copy center such as FedEx Kinkos cut it for you.

  2. Step 2

Use a wallet size picture of you and your sweetheart or take a digital picture of yourself and glue it to the card stock. I suggest the picture be playful, or sensual.

  3. Step 3

Create the wording for your Valentines Card, such as a Love Poem or Love Quote. You can really be creative and writ one yourself, however if you do not have time, or you have writers block. Checkout www.lovepoemsandquotes.com

  4. Step 4

Type your Love message using a computer and printer. For the text color use a gold or white with a fancy bold font. Print your Love message on a sheer velour paper.

  5. Step 5

Cut the velour paper the same size as your card stock 4 1/4” x 5 1/2”. For your convenience and to make sure the velour paper is cut accurately, have a copy center such as FedEx Kinkos cut it for you.

  6. Step 6

Punch two wholes at the top of both the card stock and velour paper. For your convenience and to make sure the card stock and velour paper are whole punched accurately, have a copy center such as FedEx Kinkos do it for you.

  7. Step 7

Assemble your Valentines Card with two thin 7/8” sheer ribbon. Use red and white ribbon or gold and purple ribbon. Cut the two ribbons 7”, put the velour paper on top of the card stock. String both ribbons through the two holes from the front to the back.

  8. Step 8

Finally, string the two ribbons back through the opposite holes from the back to the front. Finish assembling your Valentines Card by carefully pulling the ends of the ribbons. Place your card inside of a translucent vellum envelope and you now have created a Valentines Card for your Sweetheart.
