Things You'll Need:
- shovel
- boots
- warm coat, hat and gloves
-
Step 1
First off, you want to put on warm clothing in layers. This way, when you start to get hot, you can peel off a layer or two, but still have enough on so that you won't catch a cold. Put on a few long-sleeve shirts, sweatshirt, coat, hat, gloves, two layers of socks and warm boots.
-
Step 2
Grab your shovel and head outside. Start at the top of the driveway, closest to the garage door or the house. Shovel from left to right, piling the snow on the sides of the driveway.
-
Step 3
Shovel a small section of the driveway on the left. Then move on to another section on the right. If you divide the driveway into small sections, it is mentally easier to complete the entire driveway. You have made small goals for yourself. Once you accomplish one of your goals, it is easier to move on to the next.

Step 4
While you are shoveling, you must know the proper way to do it. Make sure that when you go to lift the shovel and dump the snow, bend at the knees and use your knees to help you lift the shovel. Do not rely soley on your arms and back, otherwise if you do, you will for sure be sore the next day.
