How to Make Smothered Steak In a Crockpot
Smothered steak made in the crockpot is a no mess, no fuss meal that can be put together in under 6 hours. This version uses peppers, onions, green beans and tomatoes, but those ingredients are optional. Does this Spark an idea?
Things You'll Need
- 1 1/2 lbs. of chuck or round steak, cut in strips
- 1/3 cups flour
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 1 to 2 green peppers, sliced
- 1 lb. canned tomatoes
- 1 4 oz can drained mushrooms
- 3 tbsp. soy sauce
- 1 10 oz. pkg. french style green beans
- Rice

Put the steak strips in the pot and add the flour, salt and pepper. Stir the ingredients around until the steak is completely coated.

Add the remaining ingredients. Cover and cook on high for 1 hour, then turn it to low and cook for 6 hours.

Prepare the rice separately. Serve the steak over rice.

Tips & Warnings
You may just start this recipe on Low early in the morning and let cook for at least 10 hours. The steak will just melt in your mouth.

We use our Crockpot a lot. It's so simple and easy to use. We often use it for ribs, but I haven't tried steak yet. Great Article, I'm trying this tomorrow. -
