Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Confidence, determination, strong will.
  1. Step 1

Make your intent known to the individual that you no longer wish to be friends. Clearly and without malice. Be respectful and walk away.

  2. Step 2

If the individual calls you or tries to communicate once again, be respectful and inform the individual of your intent to no longer be friends.

  3. Step 3

Be respectful. Repeat the first two steps as many times as needed on a case by case basis.

  4. Step 4

Do not communicate another word. No phone calls, emails, or texts.

  5. Step 5

Stick to it. Your friend may call a dozen times or not at all but you must stick to your words.

  6. Step 6

Enjoy your other friendships or spend some time to yourself, just remember there was a reason you needed to end this friendship and it is good you communicated respectfully to bring good end to this friendship.

  7. Step 7

Congrats, that you respected another indivdual enough and most of all yourself enough to know the friendship was not working for you.

  8. Step 8

Repeat steps 1-4 as many times as needed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be respectful.
  • Stick to it.
  • Your former friend will get the message.
  • You must be determined and concise with your (former) friend, know yourself well enough to know why you wanted to end it in the first place. Most of all be respectful toward the other person.
