Find Cheapest Airfare

Airfare can be very painful in the pocket at times of travel. But there is definitely something you can do to reduce it. Find out how to get the best airfare tickets and make your travel with ease.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Patience
  • Internet Acess
  • Flexibility
  • Phone
  • Computer
  1. Step 1

    Plan in advance

Airfare are often low when its booked 21 days in advance before the actual flight.

  2. Step 2

This time you are going to need your flexibility. Because airfare usually are cheaper when you stay over on a Saturday night.

You will find that the best fares are often available on Wednesdays between midnight and 1 am. Because that is the time when airlines begin to adjust their airfare price for the week.

  3. Step 3

    Think of Other Options

Let say you want to go to New York, see if you can find other airports about an hour away from your destination. This can usually save you a bit.

  4. Step 4

    Use Search Engine

Here, you are gonna want to search through online travel sites. These includes travelocity.com, cheapflights.com, bestfares.com, expedia.com and hotwires.com. Fares can be hundreds of dollars different so I suggest you check all of these.

  5. Step 5

    Go to Airlines Official Website

And once you've chosen the best one to accommodate your need, go to their actual website. Its better to do this before making a decision, because they can be cheaper there.

Some discount carriers like JetBlue and SoutWest airlines don't show on travel sites, so it is wise to search their sites directly.

  6. Step 6

    Make a Call

Now its time to call the airline 800 no. Then ask for the lowest airfare. Note that
do not mention the date of your departure. That way they will tell you the lowest fare, even though its 2 days behind or ahead of your target day. If they don't tell you. This time you are going to need to be flexible, because that is how you are going to get the cheaper one.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you've decided to call the airlines and speak to the service representative, it is wise to be nice and polite. Studies shows that people in these profession are willing to go for extra an mile if they are treated nicely.
