      Earn a bachelor's degree. You need to have a bachelor's degree in order to be accepted to a chiropractor's college. Most often they look for students that received their bachelor's degree in biology or health science although students with degrees in other areas may be accepted for admission if they have taken enough science classes during their undergraduate years.

      Graduate from a chiropractic college. While there are a number of schools and institutions that offer some form of degree for chiropractors, there are actually only 18 universities in the United States that offer doctorate degrees in chiropractic and are recognized by the Council on Chiropractic Education. Attending a university that grants both a doctorate degree and is approved by the CCE is one of the requirements for licensing in the state of Colorado. The two chiropractic colleges closest to Colorado are the Cleveland Chiropractic College in Kansas and the Parker College of Chiropractic in Texas.

      Apply for a chiropractor's license in Colorado. Once you have successfully graduated with your doctorate degree you can apply for a license to practice in the Rocky Mountain state. There is a $150 license fee that you must pay when completing your license application.

      Provide official transcripts from your college. After applying for your license you must request an official transcript to be sent to the Colorado Board of Chiropractic Examiners from your school. Since it is an official transcript it must go directly from your school to the board, which means it is not something you can submit yourself.

It simply is an affidavit you complete certifying you are legal to work in the United States as well as the state of Colorado.

To prove that you have the knowledge and skills necessary to be a chiropractor you are required to take and pass all four sections of the exam given by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners.
