Write a Great eHow Article

It can be frustrating knowing what to write and thinking of a great title for your eHow article. But, with a little creativeness and an open mind, you can easily come up with great ideas to get started.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A computer
  • internet
  • paper
  • pen
  1. Step 1

Think of a topic that interests you. Then consider topics that interest your friends and family. Make a list of these interests on a piece of paper. Consider the time of year. If it's summer...think about what topics people would be interested in pertaining to warm weather such as sports, swimming, tanning...etc. If it's fall, think about writing about pumpkins, raking leaves, or Halloween.

  2. Step 2

Once you pick a topic for your eHow article, think about what title you want to use to attract readers. If your writing about dry hands, don't just say "how to fix dry hands". Instead, consider a title like, "how to alleviate dryness during the winter months", or "how to heal dry, chapped hands". Make your title something that will stand out and grab reader's attentions. The better the detail, the more interesting it will be to readers.

  3. Step 3

Create steps to explain your eHow topic and title. How can the topic you chose be accomplished? Be creative with detail so that others can easily do what it is you are advising. Insert pictures that compliment your steps and help readers visualize what you are saying. The best way to do this is to research a few eHow articles and see what others have done. Pick a writer who has experience on eHow and has many articles available. Complete as many steps as possible to get your point across, but don't bog down the reader with too many things to do.

  4. Step 4

Finish up your eHow article with some added tips and warnings. Offer readers a few extra pointers about your topic that can guide them further to accomplishing what you are suggesting. Also, give them guidelines to follow so they don't go in the wrong direction. Think of an eHow article as a teaching lesson. You are helping others learn how to do something and you want to see that they get it right. So advice them wisely as you would yourself or those you care about. Be honest and clear in your tips and warnings. Readers will appreciate it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Write, write, write...even if you feel as though it's going nowhere. You can revise it later.
  • Choose eHow topics that are interesting to others. Find ideas by searching online to see what topics come up first.
  • Ask people you know what kinds of things interest them.
  • Find pictures for your eHow articles by searching on the internet and saving them to your computer.
  • Don't write about anything that is inappropriate. The eHow site will not condone this.
  • Try not to add too much information or add too many steps. Keep it simple.
  • Add lots of friends and comment on their articles to get tips in writing your own articles. People on eHow are very helpful if you offer the same in return.
