Things You'll Need:
- Magazines
- Internet
- Wig Shops
-
Step 1
When I'm looking for a new hairstyle I will usually check out everyone I know first. Do I know anyone whose hair I admire lately? Would I look good with the same hair style as my girlfriend or a co-worker? I've actually stopped a stranger in the mall and after telling her I loved her hair style, asked her where she got it styled. If you do it nicely people are happy to tell you things like that when they know you are admiring them.
-
Step 2
Women's magazines are a great place to find new hairstyles. You will usually see the most up to date styles there and it's easy to take the magazine to the hairstylist with you. (Taking the stranger from Step 1 could be a problem.) Hairstyle magazines tend to be a little bit too trendy but your average woman's magazine is a good source for current hairstyles.
-
Step 3
Finding a new hairstyle can be a challenge because it's probably going to be with you for quite a while so it's not really too extreme to visit a wig store and try a few on to see if the length and style suit your features.
-
Step 4
You can find a very large assortment of hairstyles, lengths and color combination's by visiting wig shops online. Many Internet wig shops offer different views of the same style in different shades. There are also web sites that will allow you to upload your own photograph and try different hairstyles online. It's like making yourself into a paper doll and changing your hairstyle and color until you find one you like!
