Step 1
The lay out of chronological resume is start with the header. The header should contain your contact information, such as your name, address and phone numbers. This header should align to the center of your resume.

Then you can write your objective under the header, align to the left of your resume paper. Your objective statement should mention about your skill, knowledge or career goal. Make it brief and simple one or two sentences.

Under objective you should write your work experience start from the most recent work experience or according to the order of time. Employer wants to see your work progress. If you have a lot of work experience you don't need to list all of them. List the most recent all the way back to ten years ago. Employer also would like to see how long you stay in one job, if you stay for a long time with the same employer or you jump from one job to another in short period of time.

Your work experience should list; the length of your employment, the company name and address, your job position and your salary or pay rate.

Step 5
The next step of resume writing is to list your educational background, which include: school name, location and your major or degree plus your GPA. List the seminar you're attended and certification you have as well, if they're related to the job you're applying.

You want to list your job achievement or accomplishment, awards and recognition you got from your previous employment as well. Then you can add your personal reference if you prefer.
