Going out incognito? Great for Halloween, stage, and film work, nose putty is a reletivly inexpensive, yet effective make up tool.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • nose putty
  • spirit gum
  • a black stipple sponge
  • foundation make up
  1. Step 1

Soften the nose putty to make it easier to work with. Knead until easily pliable. Not sure where to buy? Stock up at Halloween store when October rolls around, but if you strike out there, the internet's your best bet. Start out looking for Mehron, and Ben Nye.

  2. Step 2

Use spirit gum on the area where the nose putty is to be applied. Spirit gum is usually available from various costume store, (check out some October make-up sales!), but is also pretty easy to find online. Allow the spirit gum to dry until it is tacky. Pat the area down with the stipple sponge.

  3. Step 3

Apply and shape the putty. Blend the edges into the skin, and use the stipple sponge to add texture. Carefully cover with the foundation to match the rest of the face. You're good to go!

Tips & Warnings
  • Great for makeing moles, warts, scares and open wounds too!
  • Apply the putty a little at a time as and build up.
  • Not great for high tempretures as the wax may become soft.
  • Don't over-work the putty, or it will become difficult to work with.
  • Test a small area of your skin before useing the spirit gum. Many people are allergic.
  • Spirit gum contains harmful fumes and chemicals. Use sparringly and at your own risk.
  • Spirit gum is very difficult to remove. Paying extra for the remover is worth it.
