Things You'll Need:
- Shadow box
- Scrapbooking Paper
- Cardstock
- Rhinestones or glitter
- Acrylic Paint
- Double-sided adhesive
- Craft glue
- Foam brush
-
Step 1
Start off your project by painting your shadow box. You'll want to match it to the other frames or items in your room. You might choose black, tan, brown, or a nice varnish such as cherry or oak. Once it's painted, set it aside to dry.
-
Step 2
Once your shadow box is dry, you may want it to have a nice aged effect. If this is the look you're going for, brush gold paint on various places of your shadow box. This will make it look antique.
-
Step 3
Trim and adhere scrapbooking paper for your background. You'll also want to do this for the inside edges of your shadow box.
-
Step 4
Adhere cardstock to the back of your butterfly scrapbooking paper for added visual weight. Cut out three butterflies and attach it to the inside of your shadow box using double sided adhesive tape.
-
Step 5
To glitz up your butterflies, use clear drying craft glue to attach rhinestones or glitter down the center of each butterfly. You can also add rhinestones or glitter to the wings!
