Yum.. Beer!
Yum.. Beer!

If you truly enjoy a great mug of beer then why are you drinking the terrible, mass marketed, flavorless swill that's touted as 'full flavored hand crafted beer'? With some simple equipment and a basic home brewing kit you can make your own REAL full flavored, hand crafted beer, and the best part is, it will only cost pennies per bottle.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

When choosing a home beer brewing kit there are some basic items that should be included, make sure the one you're looking at has these basic items.

    Primary fermenter
    Secondary fermenter
    Air lock
    Tubing
    Thermometer

And that's it, see, not much at all. All commercially available home beer brewing kits include these basic items.

  2. Step 2

After the basic necessities are taken care of there are some nice accessories that you should also have such as:

    Bottling machine
    Specific gravity tester
    Very large pot
    Cooling mechanism

These items aren't really necessary but are nice to have. Most beer kits have either the items above or equivelent item in them. I've included the large pot here, it's a must have item but almost no beer brewing kit includes it.

  3. Step 3

After the equipment is taken care of you'll need the actual ingredients, the easiest and cheapest way to get them is simply buy an ingredient kit. These include everything you need, from the hops, barely, additional flavorings to the yeast.

If you're unsure as to whether you want to brew your own beer I would highly suggest a Mr Beer kit. They are inexpensive and include everything you need to get started, even a recipe kit. If you like making your own beer all you need to purchase is a primary and secondary fermenter to make full size 5 gallon recipes!

  5. Step 5

The best place to get beer kits and recipe kits is from online merchants as they generally have lower prices. You'll find some great links right on this page, I also linked the most popular, highest rated beer making kits in the resource section below so you're able to buy the best home beer making kits at the best price possible.
