Step 1
Contribute to Obama's grassroots movement by filling out his supporter survey. The survey is designed to collect demographic information about his supporters, and to find out what the experience of his supporters has been like and how their interactions with the organization have been.
-
Step 2
Work in your own community to advance the issues that the Obama presidency is focusing on, such as fixing the economy, ending the war in Irag, formulating a cleaner energy policy, and making affordable health care universally available. Join forces with community leaders and other volunteers, and encourage others in your community to add to the effort.
-
Step 3
Join other volunteers and community leaders on MyBarackObama.com. Use the online tools to organize and coordinate your efforts. You can also get help to set up your own blog in support of his policies.
-
Step 4
Discuss Obama's policies on your other social networks. Comment on pending legislation and encourage others to do so as well. He plans to institute a five day period during which the public can comment before he signs any non-emergency legislation.
-
Step 5
Support Organizing for America, Obama's post-partisan grassroots organization built around the base of support he developed during his election campaign. The details of how this will work have yet to take shape, but being connected by adding your email address or mobile device to his list will ensure you are one of the first to know.
-
Step 6
Donate money if you can. The majority of his record-breaking election campaign budget came from small contributions.
