Things You'll Need:

- willingness to change
- creativity
- support of family and friends
- good calculator
- quite place to think
- motivation
- verve
- spirit

Step 1
Find a quiet place to think.
-
Step 2
Brainstorm ideas. Follow the find a need and fill it principle. During these times think of ways you can create three-fold businesses. For example, 1. start an afterschool program for working adults, like theatre, 2. put on a play, 3. charge for enrollment, 4. sell copies of original script, 5. charge admission, 6. give cut to school for use of building of admission. Three-fold. Or 1. start afterschool program for children making crafts 2. that you then sell online. Or, start 1. a staging business where you move furniture around to help people to better show off their house, also offer 2. "refurbishing services" for old furniture to paint or make it look new, 3. charge to train people to do this.
-
Step 3
Observe your community. Define the need. Are more people working two and three jobs? Offer shopping services. Offer cleaning services. But make it three-fold. One job, creates a second and third opportunity for growth. Think hard on this. There are many needs that exist during hard times that you wouldn't otherwise see. Maybe you take grandma to the movies? Maybe grandma can knit scarves at the movies that you can sell. Maybe film grandma knitting and have a how to video on a website that you charge for, then add in selling the yarn. Or maybe teach a course on low budget cooking? Charge little for the course, but then have a community cook out and charge admission to the cook out. There are so many ways.

Step 4
Research. Once you have your ideas together go to the library and get it all down. Use free resources in your town from retired business people to get yourself up and running. Think three fold and you will be well on your way to riches. Ford did this with his motor company. He had the parts he ordered shipped in wooden boxes which were the right measurement for the running boards on the cars that he produced, thusly having the supplier send the merchandise in boxes which also supplied material for the automobiles.
