Step 1
When planning your date out, keep your budget in mind. Make sure you can afford everything. If you can't, there are always alternatives to the expensive things. For example, instead of going out to a nice restaurant, cook something nice at home.
-
Step 2
Bring a gift. Most occasions for a romantic date usually require a gift. However, if you are just planning a date for no reason but to add romance to your relationship, then a gift is usually a good idea anyway. The gift you bring really depends on the occasion. For smaller dates it can be flowers or chocolates. For the big dates, jewelry and more personal gifts are better.

Step 3
Cooking a meal yourself is much more romantic than going to a restaurant, especially if you do not normally cook. Make sure to prepare something that you would both enjoy. Find out what his or her favorite foods are and make them if you like them as well. If you can, make the foods in romantic shapes such as heart shaped cookies or noodles arranged in a heart shape.
-
Step 4
Set the scene. If you are having your romantic date at home, then add some rose petals or candles to the room. Candle light is much more romantic, as well as more flattering to the way you look. A trail of rose petals is a commonly thought of, but rarely used romantic gesture. Even if it seems useless to you, do it anyway. Your significant other will appreciate it.
-
Step 5
If you know your date pretty well and things are going to lead into something physical at the end, start it off with a massage. Grab some scented oil and give your sweetheart a relaxing but erotic rubdown. If you are no good at massages, read up online or watch some videos on youtube on how to give a good massage.
