This guide will show you how you can use any HDTV as a computer monitor.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First of all, take a look at the back of your TV and your computer. If there is a 15 pin VGA connector on your TV, you can plug any old monitor cable directly from your graphics card into your TV. The resolution won't be too spectacular, but at least you have you PC on your TV.

  2. Step 2

Depending on when you purchased your graphics card, it may have a DVI port on the back of it. This can be used to broadcast an HD quality signal if you buy a DVI to HDMI connector. This will allow you to plug your cards DVI port into an HDMI port on your TV.

  3. Step 3

Similarly, some of the newer graphics cards come standard with HDMI ports on the back. If you have an HDMI cable, it is as easy as plugging the card into the TV and playing away.
