Blackjack is the most popular card game in any casino. Without intensive studying there is a Basic Strategy that is played that is simple to master without having to count cards, etc. And this Basic Strategy is by far the majority of play in Blackjack.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

After you receive the two cards dealt, the important thing is to see the face up card that the dealer has. If the dealer shows a 7 or higher card or 6 and lower card.

  2. Step 2

If the dealer shows a 7 or higher, the chances are great the dealer will get 17 or higher. So what you do is ask for another card if you have 16 or lower. If you have 17 or higher, then you would stand meaning refusing any more cards. It's hard to ask for another card to hit 16 and the dealer is only showing a 7 card and you go bust, but mathmatically it's the correct play since the dealer will probably flip over a 10 or face card to make 17.

In this scenario, always double down with 11 and split Aces (pairs) and Eights.

  3. Step 3

If the dealer shows a 6 card or lower,(especially a 4,5 or 6) then you would stand on 12 since the dealer has a greater chance of going bust based on the likelihood of drawing two ten cards in a row.
This is why the deck rich with 10 cards is favorable to the player.

In this scenario, double down on 11, 10 or 9 and also with almost any soft hand such as Ace 2 through Ace 7 will be an advantage.

Tips & Warnings
  • Counting cards to a tee can be very meticulous but by keeping note of a big round with a lot of smaller cards that would make the deck richer in ten cards, would be a time to increase your normal betting amount.
