If you have ever been to a restaurant for chicken wings, you may be impressed with the crispness and the spiciness of the sauce. If you think that take-out wings are too difficult to make at home, think again. Chicken is one of the easiest meats to cook. With just a few tips and some encouragement from your hungry family, you can be on your way to cooking some better-than-restaurant crispy hot wings. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 1/2 pound flour
  • Salt
  • 1 tbsp pepper
  • Cooking oil
  • 4 pounds chicken wings
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 6 ounces hot sauce
  • 2 eggs
  • Large bowl
  • Medium bowl
  • Sauce pan
  • Frying pan

Instructions

    • 1

      Place the chicken wings in a large mixing bowl. Pour in the hot sauce and mix to completely coat the wings in sauce. Cover the bowl and place in the refrigerator for two hours.

      Melt the butter in a sauce pan.

      Pour flour into a medium size mixing bowl. Add salt and pepper.

      Beat two eggs and combine with the melted butter. Remove the wings from the fridge. Dip the wings, one at a time, in the egg-and-butter combination, then dip in the flour mixture, coating entirely. Once they are all completely coated, return the wings to the large bowl and place in the fridge for a few minutes.

      Pour oil to an inch deep into a large frying pan. Heat the oil to about 375 degrees F before adding the chicken to the frying pan.

      Cook the wings in the oil until deep-fried, crispy and brown.

Tips & Warnings

  • For hotter wings, use very hot sauce and add some cayenne pepper.
