Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A Girl Scout
  • Those yummy cookies
  • A smile
  • Girl Scout sash
  • Tons of badges
  • A sales pitch
  1. Step 1

It's really supposed to be the little girl that sells Girl Scout cookies. But usually parents end up selling the cookies at their places of employment so that they can make their kids look like they are great salesgirls. Here's how Moms and Dads and the little girls selling those cookies can. Here are a few tips.

  2. Step 2

Give a reason as to why people should buy the cookies. Tell people your daughter or you the Girl Scout, that you are going to Girl Scout camp and need to raise a certain amount of money. Make certain that you say , please buy some cookies, and thank you when they do.

  3. Step 3

Look sweet and innocent at your relatives, and neighbors as you try to sell them cookies. Bat your eyelashes a lot, and hold your hands behind your back. Then give them the sales pitch: "Please buy these cookies so that I can go to Girl Scout camp with my friends."

  4. Step 4

When selling cookies at work, parents, place the order sheet in your lunch room. For a small office this works great, so that everyone can see the order sheet. A large workplace means you will have to go around from area to area sellinmg the cookies. Talk to people you know and don't know. Sell to customer too---that means they have to come back to pick up their orders!

  5. Step 5

Bring your cute daughther into work, possibly with her Girl Scout uniform on, so that everyone can see the girl behind the cookies. They will realize they are helping a real person reach her goals. Have your daugther talk to everyone at work in individual areas, so as not to scare her.

  6. Step 6

Walk your daughter around your neighbor in freezing cold January temperatures to sell these delicious cookies. Don't have the girls go by themselves for safety reasons. But don't pair the kids up and have them wander around alone either. Believe it or not, but one parent walking around with one child works better than two or three girls knocking on those doors.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take a sample of girl scout cookies with you to work to sell them.
  • Give them the old, "Oh come on, you're helping out a Girl Scout," routine.
  • Get the money upfront!
