Things You'll Need:
- pencil erase
- Q-tips
- makeup brush
- wet washcloth
- rubbing alcohol
- vinyl placemat
-
Step 1
Use a pencil erase to wipe smudges off the keys. If you don't have a pencil eraser handy, try a small lump of modeling clay or silly putty. Both of these can function as an erase.
-
Step 2
Rub a cotton Q-tip in all the tiny crevices between the keys to remove dirt, dust, or hair. You can use a damp (not dripping wet) Q-tip as needed to get off built-up grease or sticky spills.
-
Step 3
Try a makeup brush for a quick dusting. A small blush brust will work wonders for a dirty keyboard.
-
Step 4
For a thorough scrubbing, make sure your computer is turned off first. Wet a washcloth with rubbing alcohol and then gently wipe down the keys. Never pour the alcohol onto the keyboard!
-
Step 5
Protect your keyboard from further dirt and grime by covering the keys with a vinyl placemat betweeen uses. This will make keyboard cleaning easier next time.
