Lower Your Phone Bill

Lower your phone bill in just a few easy steps by exploring your options and choosing the best plans available for you. Many providers offer free phone service, with unlimited free long distance. Even if you have a great telephone service provider and a good premium, it never hurts to make sure you are getting the most for your money.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Connect online.

Check out internet phone service providers to get connections at low prices, or even free. Skype.com offers users free sound and image connections, not to mention free long distance. Magicjack.com provides unlimited local and long distance with rates below $50 per year.

  2. Step 2

    Lower Cell Phone Costs.

Are you paing too much for your cell phone service? Check with billshrink.com to compare plans based on your actual usage needs.

  3. Step 3

    Call Phone Companies.

Many phone companies will offer you lower rates and even cash rebates to keep your business. It never hurts to ask, so call your phone providers and tell them you plan to switch carriers if they can't lower your phone bill.

  4. Step 4

    Scale down.

Consider eliminating your landline in favor of an unlimited cell phone package. You could save hundreds of dollars every month by scaling down to one phone, instead of two.

  5. Step 5

    Make some extra cash.

Compensate for high rates by selling your old cell phones online. List old phones on Ebay or cellforcash.com to turn your old cell into money to pay for your phone bills.
